the evolution of MVW

The original trophy, she’ll always be special to us.

Rachel received the original trophy from Snow Rousseau at the Etsy Team PEI Holiday Market, nearing the end of The PEI Sleeping Bag Project. She was going to purchase the trophy, but Snow decided that she should just have it. When Rachel brought back the trophy to Kim’s booth (Happy Sappy Mail), the idea to pass the trophy around to uplift women on the island began to form. We replaced the plate on the front to swap out MVP for MVW.

A special travel box for our lady. Built by Brenda Watts, Woodworking

We decided we needed a box so that our sweet lady would be safe during her travels so we reached out to a few woodworkers and that’s where Brenda Watts from Cattails Woodworking joined our journey. Brenda’s work did not disappoint, it’s amazing.

When I (Kim) went to Brenda’s studio to pick up the box, she pulled out a sketch, and my heart nearly leapt out of my chest. She wondered if we’d be interested a new handmade award. We are so incredibly honoured that Brenda would want to create this award for us.

A community of talented and supportive women is already starting to build and this is only the beginning.

We are so proud to unveil our beautiful empowered lady.
